Rockapella - Maine (Yeah Pink, con't)

Thursday night I had just enough time to lie down and close my eyes for like 10 minutes before Jenn showed up. We packed our stuff into the car and then went to the grocery store for a few items (coke and chips and cookies for the car). Got back to my house where Paula was waiting. Packed her stuff and headed to the diner for dinner before heading up to Maine. We left around 7:10pm. The trip up there flew by. We sang, we drove, we ate, we bitched, we laughed, we obsessed and then we were at the hotel by around 12:45am. The lobby is not open past 11pm, so they left a sign on the door to check the mailbox. So I went to the mailbox and pulled out 2 envelopes one with my name, one with Jenns name and I turn to Jenn and said LOOK! Weve got mail! hehe. It was funny there that night. Anyhoo, inside the envelopes were our room keys and a map of the hotel with all the entrances and our rooms highlighted. We unloaded the car, wandered the hotel for a few then went to sleep.

Friday was beautiful out! We were out of the hotel by 12:15. Went to Friendlys for lunch. The main part of the town is this strip about a mile long of stores mainly retail factory outlets shops. So we parked at one end and worked our way down one side of the street and then back up the other. It wasnt too crowed and we just took our time and we werent rushed or pressured for time for anything cause we had nothing planned all day. It was so nice. AND because it was the 4th of July, there were extra discounts on most of the stores. I got a pair of $50 Nine West shoes for $22. Yaya. Around 3:30 we went to go check out the park where Rockapella was playing on Saturday night. There were already 2-3 rows of chairs set up. People just put their stuff down and left it there. So we got an idea. We went and found a Wal-Mart and purchased folding camping chairs ($6.54) and I also got a small folding table as well ($4.24). As we were driving back towards the hotel to go see what else we wanted to check out in the area Amy called us to tell us they were there and in the hotel. We went to get them to get dinner and go watch the fireworks at the local high school. However, by the time they were ready to leave and due to the wrong information our stupid desk person gave us, we had to pick up McDonalds thru the drive thru to save time. We finally found the HS and parking spots and planted ourselves (Jenn, Paula and me in our new chairs to give them a trial run) and watched the not so excited fireworks. It was really foggy out and the display was lame and it was pretty cold out (even I put on a sweater), but, it was the 4th and we were together and we were happy. Ariana was sick and Laura wasnt feeling well either, so that car headed back to the hotel while my car went to Friendlys for some ice cream (yummy). Back at the hotel we watched a boot of Rent with Joey Fat-one and Manley Pope that I gave Paula for her Bday and then went to bed.

Saturday we left the hotel by like 12noon again and went to the park to set up our chairs. Good thing we did b/c people had already started setting up. All 7 of us then went to get food. After eating we split up a bit here and there to shop, or lay in the sun or rest or whatever. I chose to lie on a blanket in the sun. It was sooooo friggin hot but felt so good. All of a sudden it started getting really gray and cloudy out and there was thunder. After a few min I saw lightening and was like, hmmm, this could be bad. I packed up all the stuff that could get wet. Then I just FELT that the rain was coming and call Jenn who had gone to The Gap with Paula and told them to started heading back here. So they did and we folded our chairs so they would not blow away and got into the car and closed the doors and BAM the sky opened up and the rain came down. PERFECT timing! We went back to the hotel to shower and change and relax for a few before the concert. People were worried it was going to pour and the show was going to be cancelled ... blah blah blah. Jenn and I were like 30-60 min and the sun will be back. And we were right. YEAH PINK! So we drove back and found parking (miraculously) and waited around in the muggy weather, finding refuge in the LL Beans a/c for a few hear and there until finally Rockapella entered the stage. It was basically the same set as Wed at BBKings (what a surprise). Elliott was really quiet during the show (we later found out he was really sick with a fever and all). When Kevin was going to pick PW he looked right at me and made eye contact but then a group over behind the stage called him and he looked that way. When he looked back he made eye contact with Paula who was sitting to my left and walked right over to her but she got this scared look on her face and kept mumbling keep walking keep walking and so he did. (We later found out that he was going to pick her for PW until he got to her and saw her expression, and since he read it as dont pick me which was correct he kept walking). Oh Paula! HAHAHAHA! The meet and greet was IN LL Bean so we thought wed have plenty of time to put our stuff in the car and then get on line. And we were right. The line was sooooo long. So we chilled around the big LL Bean boot and chatted with Fred until it got shorter. Scott had driven Elliott back to the hotel, so they were not there. I was having the other 3 sign a LL Bean catalog. It was Jenns idea and I liked it, so I did it as well. All three of them wrote silly comments coming from the models in bubbles above their heads. Jeff was being very perverted haha. We quoted some lines from the movie airplane. George actually talked to me I had to look behind me to make sure no one else was there that he might have been talking to. Kevin was quieter than usual, but still so nice and happy hes so pretty. M&Gs are so different when then are stuck behind a table compared to when they can walk around and mingle. Eventually we all left and tried to find someplace to eat that was open and NOT Friendlys. We did and it was good. Then we went back to the hotel and the other car went to their room and Jenn came and hung out with me and Paula and we watched some movies and talked and chilled and then eventually went to bed

Sunday we had to check out by 11am. All 7 of us went to Friendlys for breakfast. Then we hugged good bye and started our sep ways home. My car stopped to see the 42 rotating globe. It was awesome. Def worth the stop. We passed Amys car on the road which was fun. Then some guy in a car with Massachusetts plates held up a sign that said Yankees Suck. So when we passed him we made a sign that said Go Mets. He got a good laugh out of that! Yeah for car fun with strangers. Jenn and I were so excited for Roy Rogers on the way home b/c we saw like 3 of them on the way up and they dont have them by her or me anymore. We finally got to the first RR and said wed wait till the next one. THERE WERE NO MORE GOING SOUTH!!!!!! Ugh. So upsetting. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! Anyways, we left Freeport, Maine at 12:50 and got to Pizzeria Uno by my house by 8:30ish (we forgot to check the time). We ate and then went to my house to unpack (my house is literally 2 min from Pizzeria Uno) said our goodbyes and Paula and Jenn took off to their respective houses.

And that is the end of my Pella Vacation.

YEAH PINK!!!!
