"Award-winning actress Lynne Thigpen died at her home in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, March 12. The actress, who had spent the last three years working on the CBS television series The District, was 54, according to a Reuters report. A theater veteran, Thigpen first received attention for her work in Godspell, which was immortalized in the 1973 film version of the musical. She received a 1981 Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony Award nomination for Tintypes and won the 1997 Best Featured Actress in a Play Tony for Wendy Wasserstein's An American Daughter. Her other Broadway credits include The Magic Show, The Night That Made America Famous, Working, But Never Jam Today, Fences and A Month of Sundays. She won the L.A. Drama Critics Award for her work in a Los Angeles production of Fences. She also won two OBIE Awards for performance, the first for 1992's Boesman and Lena and the second for 1999's Jar the Floor, her last New York stage appearance. In addition to The District, Thigpen was known to television audiences for playing the Chief in the PBS series Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? and Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego?."

Some other credits that I recall - she was the airline rep in "Random Hearts", she was in "Tootsie", she was in that great cult film of the late 70's "The Warriors" (oh Warriors, come out and plaa-aay) and she was a reoccuring character on "Love, Sydney" and she was in a few episodes of "Gimmie A Break"

She was my inspiration when I did "Working". I wanted to be her when I sang 'our' song "Cleaning Women".

AND Survivor last night�great little twist but holy crap is Heidi a dumbass!!! She just totally limited her chances � and basically killed her chances of getting much futher with how she voted at tribal council. What an ass. I was literally SCREAMING at her last night on the TV. What a dumbass she was. Ugh.
